Hasbro European Services provides various services to Hasbro business units in Europe and the Middle East and Africa.
Main Purpose of role:
Hasbro European Services provides finance and accounting control services to Hasbro’s Family Entrainment business globally.To provide the following services: To assume responsibility for the total general ledger accounting, local tax and statutory compliance for Family Brands entities (HCPLL - Family Brands, Secret Location, Global Marketing CORP; ABD; Eone Holding UK Ltd) under the supervision of the Financial accounting manager.This includes maintaining accounting for US GAAP month end and year end reporting, Local GAAP for statutory accounting, external tax and VAT reporting for these regions. Assist the FAM with any other countries that are within their scope.
Specific Responsibilities/Tasks:
Financial Accounting
Hold overall accountability for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for entities under responsibility in line with US GAAP and corporate policies and procedures (corporate reporting on a Legal Entity basis, as well as management reporting based on Business Areas).
Financial accounting work
•Review balance sheet and P&L accounts periodically to ensure appropriate valuation and resolve any queries;•Review all clearing, accrual & prepayment accounts to ensure that accounts used are regularly reviewed and cleared;•Prepare complex reconciliations, account analysis and general ledger entries to enable the monthly reporting cycle to be completed on time and with accuracy;•Prepare journal entities with appropriate support•Review journal entries prepared by the Assistant Financial Accountant;
Month-end closing process
•Be the point of contact for Local Market Finance for markets under responsibility;•Assist with some analytical review in conjunction with the local market finance and in for US quarterly reporting;•Prepare monthly management package files identifying points for discussion and resolution prior to meeting with Financial Accounting Manager and Local Market Finance;•Ensure online monthly financial submissions are in line with US GAAP and corporate policies and procedures;
Balance sheet reviews
•Analyse quarterly balance sheet variances YOY movements and provide commentary for the quarterly discussion with KPMG. •Drive quarterly b/s review meeting with commercial finance, identify points for discussion and resolution prior to meeting with Financial Accounting Manager and /Local Finance
Recharges
•Understand the group trading structure and ensure all internal charges are raised on a timelybasis and recorded accurately;
Payroll
•Ensure payroll process runs by liaising with the HR department
•Ensure all payroll accounting is accurate
•Ensure all payroll reporting requirements are met.
Taxes – corporate and VAT and Transfer Pricing
•Prepare and ensure accurate submission of VAT returns•Monthly/Quarterly reconciliation of VAT accounts.•Prepare and ensure the local Tax returns for the Business Unit under responsibility is submitted on time. Liaising with Tax advisors, third party providers and corporate tax department.•Prepare and review periodic corporate tax returns.•Review Corporate Tax schedules at y-e, including computation of deferred taxes. Liaising with external auditors and third party providers.•Prepare Transfer pricing documents
Statutory accounting
•Prepare the US GAAP to local GAAP statutory adjustments for local reporting
•Review Statutory accounts for entities prepared by third party accounting
•Ensure all statutory reports are prepared in accordance with local GAAP, reconciliationbetween Local GAAP and US GAAP agreed to y-e reporting trial balance;
•Actively manage the Stats process from start to government submission
Audit & SOX
•Work with KPMG staff to complete interim & y-e audits.
•Work with IAD to provide requested information, to explain processes in order to ensurethat IAD gets an accurate understanding of the processes and internal controls in place.Implement agreed IAD recommendations.
•Periodic testing of internal controls in accordance with Hasbro SOX process review.
•Implementation of remediation plans in line with agreed timetable.
General
•Ensure the appropriate skills and competencies are demonstrated and provide support to Assistant Financial Accountant to consistently achieve that level.•Actively seek and support new methods of working, driving efficiencies in streamlining processes.

Qualifications required
Qualified – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar
Experience required
•Experienced Accountant (similar position or accounting practice)•Previous experience of financial accounting and reporting for a company with turnover in excess of £100 million•Held Balance Sheet/P&L preparation for an entire business unit•Previous experience of preparing statutory accounts and tax returns for market•Experience of VAT reporting & return preparation
Previous experience of accounting system implementation
Multi national FMCG or Media type experience
