The role

 

As a Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of world leading offshore windfarms for RWE Renewables. The role will commence providing construction phase experience to a number of projects progressing through Development. The position will transition to assuming overall responsibility for managing a project that has successfully secured a route to market. As a representative of RWE Renewables, you will also be an ambassador for the company’s behaviours, particularly Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance (We Care), working within a team, developing local capability and pushing boundaries, whilst promoting project management best practice as a recognised project management subject matter expert. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your commercial, technical and leadership skills working with an established, experienced, and qualified team and be at the forefront of the growth of an innovator in the offshore wind energy industry.

 

Your future plans

 

  • Experienced leaders or aspiring leaders who have effectively managed large, multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural project teams and built local project management capability
  • Demonstrable commitment in the form of a proven history of delivering projects in full compliance with International and Local regulations and to the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental management
  • Experience of providing assurance that the windfarm can be constructed without harm to people or the environment and in a fashion that the quality and technical performance requirements can be satisfied within the cost and schedule targets that formed the Final Investment Decision
  • A record of effective application of processes and techniques to evaluate the local supply chain capability that resulted in maximisation of local content within the project
  • Ability to define, establish and maintain a project delivery capability comprising people, processes and systems that safely and efficiently delivers the project throughout its lifecycle
  • Previous responsibility for ensuring that all the construction contracts and support contracts are delivered effectively and deliver as per the project plan
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-disciplinary activities between subprojects, e.g. in the fields of permit, commerce, finance, site and operations
  • An understanding of common technical, commercial and stakeholder risks of performing offshore construction activities
  • Experience of applying techniques to influence others to deliver results

 

Your profile

 

  • Qualifications to degree level in an engineering discipline or equivalent science/numerate qualification
  • Membership of a project management professional body and accreditation would be advantageous
  • Experience of safely delivering complex offshore construction projects, typically involving HV electrical systems and wind turbines to quality, schedule and cost expectations
  • Experience of successfully representing your company in engagements with a wide range of key stakeholders
