We are recruiting a Marketing Executive to not only support our team as they plan and implement book marketing campaigns, but also to explore smarter ways of working.
The Opportunity
As part of the Michael Joseph (MJ) Marketing team, you’ll help tell the world about our books, working closely with the entire marketing team, as well as authors, agents, editors, publicity, sales and international. You’ll be:
Supporting the Marketing Managers on high profile and brand author campaigns
Supporting the Communications Director on backlist initiatives, including running paid and organic backlist campaigns
A team player, assisting with administrative duties, including creating retailer presentations, writing copy, developing campaign assets and attending author events and signings
Supporting the Senior Marketing Manager on our MJ social media channels, including scheduling posts, reporting, creating assets and sending newsletters
Building and developing excellent relationships with authors, agents, brand partners, retailers, influencers and internal and external stakeholders
Seeking out opportunities to reach new audiences
Looking to improve how we work – not only in your role, but in the wider team
What you’ll bring
We are looking for someone with lots of initiative and creativity, who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deadlines and projects, and prioritise with confidence. An understanding of social media and how to reach different audiences is key, as are curiosity and an interest in the news agenda and current cultural trends. You will be an organised, flexible team player and have good communication skills to present ideas and feedback on team projects. You’ll have an eye for good design and a flair for writing copy that engages and attracts readers.

Salary: Up to £30,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

Hybrid working: We’re experimenting with a hybrid way of working that suits the needs of each team. While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role, some meetings will need to be attended in person at our offices in Embassy Gardens, around three days a week. We are open to discussing the exact balance of office to remote working through the recruitment process.
