The Opportunity
We’re looking for a new publicity and administrative Assistant to provide organisational support to a team of 10 busy publicists.
The role involves:
Booking author travel and accommodation
Dealing with enquiries from media, influencers, bookshops and members of the public
Organisation of book mailings
Research tasks
Diary management
Arranging meetings and taking minutes
Media monitoring and circulation of coverage
Invoice processing
Organisation of team folders and systems
As part of working in PR, this role requires regular evening and weekend work assisting at various events.
What you’ll bring
We need someone who is proactive, shows meticulous attention to detail and can prioritise a busy workload under pressure. You will enjoy talking to people, because you will be communicating regularly with teams across the business and with external stakeholdes – over the phone, on email and in person. You don’t need previous experience in publishing but we’d love someone who has an interest in the media and the books we publish. Experience working in an office environment, using the Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word is necessary. You’ll be surrounded by books and be expected to get involved in conversations on them so an eagerness to read our new books is important, too. Above all, you’ll love the idea of a busy role keeping the team on track and organised!

Salary: You'll start on £27,500 plus bonus and benefits.

Hybrid working: We’re experimenting with a hybrid way of working that suits the needs of each team. While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role, some meetings will need to be attended in person at our offices in Pimlico on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. As said above too, regular out of hours evening and weekend work is a requirement for this role, too.
