The role:
We are looking for a part-time H&S Group Manager to join our UK Facilities and Operations Team. This role will manage H&S onsite at our UK-based offices and work closely with our consultant vendor First Option, to meet our production H&S requirements.
Alongside technical knowledge this role will involve fostering a safety-conscious culture across the business and safeguarding the well-being of all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and keep policies and RAs up to date
- Review all contractor HS docs, incl hot works, lone working etc.
- Review all vendor HS set up on a regular basis (e.g. cleaning, security, catering)
- Conduct RAs for events and general onsite work
- Conduct ongoing training for facilities core team; lifting, slip and trips etc.
- Regular mini First-Aid refreshers to Facilities team
- Defib checks and updates
- HS floor walks
- DSE assessments for all onsite staff
- Staff allergen support
- Conduct Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans
- Monthly reporting on all HS, include information from FMUK Consultant
- Ensure staff and freelancers are up to date with latest building emergency information
- Manage HS Committee
Skills and Experience:
- In-depth expertise in occupational health and safety including industry-specific hazards, regulations, and risk management principles.
- Understanding of local and national safety regulations is essential.
- Proficiency in producing reports and data analysis.
- Experience in policy development
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organised
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital to effectively convey safety information to employees and collaborate with various departments.
- Excellent leadership skills are necessary to role model and encourage staff to follow safety procedures.
- Resilience and stress management skills are key to promoting a positive safety culture.
