Credit Services Team Leader (fixed term contract) at Bertelsmann

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Credit Services Department on a fixed term basis (parental leave cover) as a Credit Services Team Leader.

 

The key part of this role will be to work with the Credit Manager in the day to day running of the Credit Risk and Held orders team.

 

As a Credit Services Team Leader you will support the Credit Manager with credit risk assessments on new and existing customers, ensuring a balanced view between commerciality, and the need to mitigate risk of loss to the company. You will be responsible for the Trade Credit Insurance which involves building relationships with external insurance providers and data providers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Support, lead and develop team of 5
  • Hold weekly 1-2-1 meetings with direct reports
  • Produce monthly risk reporting for Credit Manager to review
  • Support the new account opening process
  • Ensure credit limits are accurately maintained within systems
  • Support the delivery of process documentation for key processes
  • Support the Credit Manager in developing and evolving the credit policy
  • Process bad debt journals for legal ledger
  • Evolve decisioning processes to be inline with latest trends
  • Produce monthly reporting to credit insurance partners in line with reporting timetable
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders in Sales, Customer Service, Accounting Services teams
  • You will deputise for the Credit Manager as required.

What you’ll bring to the role:

 

  • People management experience
  • Proficient in credit assessment techniques
  • Ability to analyse data and produce meaningful insight from data
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel Skills
  • Understanding of trade credit insurance policies
  • Methodical approach to work, as well being a self-starter
  • Attention to detail skills and the ability to prioritise workload
  • Strong communication skills
  • Change management experience is desirable but not required

Salary: £22,829 - £32,500 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role

For this role we expect that you will work from the office, based in Colchester, twice a week and work the remaining days remotely.
