We are currently seeking a Senior Editor to join the Random House Worlds imprint to edit 8-12 titles per year on the licensed fiction list. Random House Worlds currently publishes projects for high-profile brands such as Star Wars, Stranger Things, Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, Minecraft, and more. While this role will have the opportunity to work with our established brands, we hope candidates will also bring their own interests and expertise to the team, continuing to expand RHW’s list beyond sci-fi/fantasy into other genre and pop-culture spheres. The position provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in a creative and hands-on department, dedicated to creating best-in-class licensed books. We are a highly collaborative team who love to bring our authentic style of nerdery to our favorite pop culture worlds.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. Candidates should have demonstrated success in a fast-paced work environment that necessitates managing complicated schedules and personal flexibility.
Random House Worlds is a collaborative publishing environment, and candidates should be comfortable working as part of a team and willing to go the extra mile for authors and licensing partners.
Qualifications:
The salary range for this position is $78,000-$85,000. Candidates with 5 – 6 years’ experience acquiring and editing books will be eligible for a salary of $78,000 - $81,000 while candidates with 7-10 years of experience will be considered for a salary between $82,000 - $85,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
