We are currently recruiting an Instrument Support Technician (secondment for 1 year) to work alongside the Lab Instrument Specialist to ensure that all equipment is calibrated and maintained to in order to meet quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Laboratory Team Leader;
Weekly calibration of laboratory instruments across site
Using Analytic trust to complete calibrations - understanding of the bias and slope adjustments required.
Transfer of incoming results from external labs onto Analytic Trust and routine monitoring spreadsheets
Able to fault find / complete basic repairs of instruments and coordinate with external suppliers in the event of a breakdown/service visits.
Participating/leading the Westbury instrument site and central and status meetings
Collection and testing of samples of samples for new calibration models and model updates.
Point of contact alongside the Instrument specialist to support site teams with instrument issues and training.
Setup processes for operator sample collections
Creation of SOP’s and training of operators across site.
Collection and despatch of samples for customers and analysis
Provide cover for Lab Instrument Specialist
Support product release e.g. by scanning and archiving paperwork
Complete glass and Perspex audits as part of the site audit team.
A degree of flexibility will be required from time to time to provide some cover for the laboratory
You will work closely with the operators teams to ensure that we deliver QEHS objectives.
Skills:
Good working knowledge of;
Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, analysing and interpreting data
You need to demonstrate clear communication, and systemised ways of working
