Smart Infrastructure Programme Manager (PGM)
Life on the team
As a Programme Manager (PGM) in Computacenter’s Smart Infrastructure team you will be responsible for programmes and/or large complex assignments that deliver significant change activities that may include Business and Transformational activity.
You will lead a team of Project Managers, be responsible for the overall business outcome and will assure and govern the programme/assignments to ensure it meets Computacenter’s and the Customer’s requirements and needs.
Your scope of activity will range from the development of the delivery approach used by Computacenter, the delivery definition for specific programme(s), the development of propositions and supporting the development of proposals within pre-sales. You may also be responsible for the successful delivery of assignments from inception through to completion.
What you'll do
Programme Management (throughout the whole lifecycle)
o Be fluent in and adhere to our methodologies for delivering engagement outcomes and work with the customer and sales teams to agree how that assignment fits into the customer governance cycle and needs.
o Demonstrate leadership to the programme team and business stakeholders involved in delivery of the capability, thus enabling the realisation of the benefits.
o Undertake formal planning for dealing with stakeholders and influence stakeholder attitudes and contributions as necessary to deliver the assignment outcomes.
o Whether in pre-sales, assurance or delivery, you will manage the assignments to ensure they are delivered within the agreed timeframe and budget to deliver the defined outcomes and benefits, maintaining excellent levels of customer satisfaction.
o Act as the subject matter expert with customer and account to recommend and implement appropriate methodologies and assignment structures.
o Create and maintain an assignment plan. Be able to define a top-level plan and ensure it is tracked and interpreted with the use of appropriate tools.
o Implement and manage appropriate programme governance based upon Computacenter and customer requirements and existing processes.
o Be accountable for ensuring that the required assignment control documentation is created and kept up to date.
o Manage the identified resources (from all delivery parties) necessary to deliver the agreed assignment outcomes in the required timescales according to the agreed business case. This should include optimisation of resources across multiple assignments.
o Manage risks, issues and dependencies at programme-level of the assignment.
o Manage relevant escalations to resolution.
o Manage third party and delivery teams, ensuring they meet their obligations in accordance with approved statements of work.
What you'll need
• You will have a strong technical knowledge and experience of Network Cabling, LAN and WLAN and the ability to articulate the benefits in line with Computacenter’s propositions.
• Ideally trained in project and programme management methodology, for example, MSP, Prince2, Agile Techniques.
• A demonstrable track record of delivering complex, high-risk assignments/multiple successful programmes.
• Health & Safety CDM knowledge.
• Demonstrable leadership skills and personal gravitas.
• A proven track record in assurance, governance, and business management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Able to apply a variety of influencing skills to enable the required outcomes for your stakeholders and to enable positive assignment outcomes.
• Ability to apply a variety of approaches including Emotional Intelligence with flexibility, to adapt personal style and approach to meet specific customer needs and to resolve conflicts.
• Understand and be able to articulate the wider context of the assignment you are leading.
• Ability to articulate the value of programme management to internal and external customers.
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
