Position Summary: 

Under direct supervision, inspects incoming parts/material, outgoing orders verify that certification is correct, checks parts for processing, check special orders, daily use of micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, etc. 
 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducts Dimensional Inspections per Design record and documented AQL levels 
• Conducts visual Inspections for obvious defects 
• Review and Disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements per AS9100 and Company Standards.  Disposition and control on non-conforming product 
• Assist in internal, customer and third-party audits.  Identify and communicate opportunities to increase Inspector productivity 
• Input Inspection results into Internal database 
• Perform Visual inspections for defects

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

• High School/Diploma
• 0 to 2 years of working experience
• Experience in QA inspection methods and procedures or pass basic inspection exam 
• Fluent in English, reading, writing and verbal communication
• Strong analytical, organizational and troubleshooting skills
• Required to pass documented color and near vision exam
• Ability to read blueprints

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Associate Degree 
• 2 to 4 years of working experience
• Knowledge of AS9100 Requirements
• Understanding of Six Sigma / team concepts
• Previous aerospace inspection experience
• Strong inspection knowledge with use of Calipers, ring/pin gages, comparator and smart scope

Other Requirements

• Precise hand/eye coordination: Frequently
• Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions: Constantly
• Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 30lbs: Frequently
• Prolonged benchwork i.e. sitting
• Once fully trained and competent for the role, the candidate is expected to end work at 6pm daily to cover late pick-ups and outbound inspections.
