Content Design Specialist (Digital: Corporate Units) at BT Group

Full time, 3 days a week together in our London hub (flexible 2 days remote wherever)

 

The immediate assignment:


As a Content Design Specialist at BT, you will hold a pivotal position in our commitment to prioritizing the needs of our colleagues and users, placing their experience at the forefront of our mission.

 

You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking the lead in conducting advanced, iterative, and user-centric content design tasks and strategies. Your primary focus will be on guiding users through our journeys, ensuring they effortlessly access the information they require in the most intuitive and efficient manner.

 

You will have the opportunity to shape and take ownership of content creation for various products, services, or propositions. Your responsibilities will encompass the development, revision, and review of content associated with these user journeys. In this process, you'll leverage evidence, data, and research to continuously enhance our content and make well-informed decisions.
 
You'll have the following accountabilities:

 

  • Championing User-Centered Content: Ensuring that all content you create adheres to a user- centered approach, prioritizing the needs and preferences of our users and customers.
  • Content Journey Planning: You'll excel in supporting content messaging and planning seamless multi-touchpoint journeys that place user needs at their core.
  • Content Editing & Publishing: Your skills will cover timely content production and comprehensive content lifecycle planning, including maintenance, governance, and removal.
  • User Research & Testing: Proficiency in discovering content issues and consistently learning from qualitative research.
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Taking responsibility for ensuring that your content aligns with legal, regulatory, and governance standards.
  • Subediting and Proofreading: Reviewing and refining content to maintain its quality and accuracy.
  • Product Design & Strategy: Proficiency in crafting engaging content strategies, understanding your audience, conducting research, and prioritizing user needs to create content aligned with project goals and messaging.
  • Cultivating Team Culture: Contributing to the development of a strong team culture within the design team and the broader Digital team.

 

You'll have the following skills and experience:

Essentials:

 

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Content Designer (or in similar roles), with a significant portion of that experience focused on ecommerce or colleague facing projects.
  • The ability to take a project from inception to completion, continuously enhancing the customer experience.
  • Previous experience working within lean and agile teams.
