This role can be based at either our London or Birmingham office. You will be working to our hybrid model of 3 days together, 2 days wherever.

In your role as an Automation Tester at BT, you will play a crucial part in testing our design system. This is a key aspect of maintaining the consistency and usability of our digital platforms.
By rigorously testing the design system, you ensure that it remains robust, scalable, and efficient. You validate the functionality, usability, and accessibility of the design components, ensuring they work seamlessly across different devices and browsers. Your meticulous testing helps us detect and fix design inconsistencies or issues early, thereby preserving the visual and functional integrity of our digital platforms.

What you’ll be doing
Maintain and enhance our existing Cypress automation test framework.
Transition the squad to a new WebDriver IO framework that uses TypeScript.
Develop and execute automated tests to ensure product quality.
Implement a test automation framework in the flutter app using Webdriver IO.
Collaborate with the development team to ensure consistent project execution.
Work together with testers across other tribes to ensure product quality and consistency.
Identify, record, and document thoroughly, and track bugs.
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
Mentor fellow and junior QAs to help them build towards automation targets and reduce the manual testing needs.
Review other QAs work across tribes to ensure high quality standards are maintained.
Review requirement documents and ensure that all scenarios (both positive and negative) are covered by clear, achievable, acceptance criteria.
Coordinating the tasks within sprints and looking at ways to automate manual activities within software delivery process.
Skills and Experience
Must Have Skills:
Automation expertise using JavaScript, Typescript, Java.
Experience with Cypress or WebDriver IO frameworks
Experience automating testing on both Mobile and web based application.
Experience of integrating test scripts into Continuous Integration Pipelines.
Expertise in testing methodologies, test techniques and agile QA practices .
Working knowledge of JIRA / Confluence
Good communication skills of test status across engineering team and stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills:
ISTQB Foundation certification.
Experience with React and design systems.
Expertise with automated testing tools (such as Applitools, TestCafe, Karma, Saucelabs / Browserstack, Headspin, Flutter, Appium,).
Understanding of Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) testing approach.
Background in DevOps tooling for execution of automation tests such as Jenkins, GIT, PAAS, Monitoring / Log aggregation.
Understanding of complex Headless / Serverless front end testing requirements
