Senior Release Train Engineer at BT Group

In this role, you will lead the solution train across the multiple tribes that make up the ecosystem for the development of products on BT Business’ strategic IT platforms – so at the forefront of delivering the digital strategy for Business, a multi-billion-pound division of BT. Co-ordinating and managing the delivery of business value across multiple tribes with RTEs/Delivery leads, you will be central to translating BT Business’ roadmap priorities into tangible business benefits our colleagues and customers and work with senior leaders across Group Digital and Business.

What you’ll be doing

  • Operate as an SME in overseeing the management of the overall backlog, providing direction, and facilitating the sequencing of work across the ART (Agile Release Train) to efficiently manage the overall development and fixed resource utilisation.
  • Lead programme level coordination, such as creating timelines, milestones, and cadence of increments and releases, and oversee the development of reports and analyses that document programme activity.
  • Ensure clear Agile Release Train (ART) communication and coordination with stakeholders and customers during feature definition and delivery across multiple application transformation initiatives.
  • Participate with management and cross-functional teams to develop and improve the most complex operating policies and procedures related to scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe) and be an advocate in adopting Agile and SAFe best practices and processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and drives delivery and continuous improvement by utilising feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Lead project teams and provide and leadership; act as consultant/coach to management in resolving unusually difficult problems.
  • Build and develops the working relationship between engineering and its business functions and partners.
  • Provide transparency and awareness of progress, dependencies and impediments through open communication and reporting for the ART.
