As the Procurement and Contracts Manager for Utilities and Sustainability, you will join a dynamic, fast paced and inclusive Procurement and Contracts team, responsible for supporting ambitious and challenging deliverables in the utilities and renewables market which are directly linked to MAG’s Net Zero Target of 2038.
In this role you are responsible for the development and implementation of strategic category plans, covering a diverse utilities portfolio including but not limited to; on site solar generation, offsite CPPAs (corporate power purchase agreements), market trading, exploration of battery storage, hydrogen along with any new market offerings. You will deliver complex programmes from cradle to grave, supporting risk assessment processes for suppliers, building strategic relationship management, creating innovative business cases for positive change whilst supporting MAG’s sustainability agenda with suppliers.
To bring about positive sustainable change, collaboration and influencing skills are essential, you will be engaging with senior leaders and stakeholders, suppliers and cross industry peers in an ever-evolving industry. Projects are often complex but also pivotal in supporting MAG achieve it’s CSR targets and Net Zero targets.
You will be responsible for the leadership and day to day management of a category team, providing an end-to-end service to the relevant business areas to your category. As a senior member of the team, you will be keen to lead by example, share your knowledge and support the development of others.

You will have extensive procurement experience with at least 5 years specialising in a Utilities Category or similar, with experience of leading high performing teams. You will be commercially astute, with the ability to develop strategic business cases, excellent negotiation/ influencing skills, a passion for sustainability, be an excellent collaborator with a demonstrated capability in project and change management and strong supplier relationship management skills. You will also need extensive working knowledge of UK Procurement Regulations (although not essential).
