Summary

  • London Stansted Airport
  • Permanent role – full Time - 40 hours per week.
  • Salary – £37,763.33 rising to 41,861.31 after a minimum 3 months qualifying period
  • Additional 17.5% shift pay
  • Shift pattern covers 2 days 2 nights - 4 on, then 4 off.  Hours are 0630 – 1830 and 1830 – 0630.

The role

As a Cleaning Supervisor at London Stansted Airport, you will deliver the day-to-day management and performance of the cleaning team and standards across their allocated areas to ensure a superb guest experience is delivered.  You will display role model behaviour to ensure that the team members promote MAG values and ensure the fair and consistent treatment of colleagues. 

In the role, you will proactively review the cleaning department resource in line with operational requirements to identify key areas that be falling below standards and adjust accordingly.  You will lead on delivery standards and compliance, including supervising the Cleaning Coordinators as per the agreed delivery levels.  You will need to ensure the full health and safety compliance and drive a strong culture across the soft services division. 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for operational delivery of cleaning excellence standards across the airport
  • Oversee performance auditing, monitoring, and reporting
  • To attend operational management meetings and manage stakeholder expectations as required
  • Mentoring and development of cleaning co-ordinators to ensure an adequate succession plan is in place.
  • Ensure Co-ordination and planning activities are undertaken and reviewed to maximise delivery options and compliance
  • Ensure O&M’s and Asset information is correct and up to date at all times via the cleaning performance manager
  • To lead operational discussions and solution implementation
  • Promote and drive an innovative approach to achieving objectives, making best use of the latest industry techniques with a view to realising best practice

What will make you successful in the role?

The person that will be successful in securing this role will be able to demonstrate real world experience alongside the skills listed below either in full or in part.

 

  • Excellent technical knowledge of cleaning services
  • Experience of managing a large operational team in a high footfall operation (Essential) 
  • Able to demonstrate experience of building effective, lasting professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Able to give clear, constructive feedback; develop two-way communications and deliver difficult messages in a sensitive and a tactful way both to individuals and teams.
  • Health & Safety qualification knowledge including cleaning best practice and COSHH
  • Self-motivated individual with strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and motivate at all levels
  • Able to understand a peak and flow operation and react in real time to operational requirements, able to interpret data to inform decision making and effective deployment of staff to achieve KPI’s
  • Creates a clear vision of what success looks like in their team
  • IT Literate (e.g. Word ,Excel, Maximo and Touch Work) (Essential) 
  • Excellent leadership skills.
