We are pleased to advise there is no prior Fire Service experience required for this role as full training will be provided, so if you have the capability to promote a professional image, maintain the required level of professional competence, and follow instruction, and the compassion to help those in need then a fulfilling career with the RFFS awaits.
Please note: The successful applicants will embark on a 5-week residential Aviation Firefighter training course at the Fire Service College in Moreton on the Marsh, Gloucestershire where you will be required to stay away from home Monday - Friday.

As an operational firefighter you are required to deal with emergency situations in accordance with regulations and procedures. You will undertake firefighting duties as deemed necessary to save life, protect the environment and property. You will Be responsible for personal and team compliance with company Health and Safety policies, ensuring safe working practices are followed to minimise risk to self, work colleagues, customers and airport staff is minimised.
Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external bodies by applying the agreed policies, procedures and working practices when attending emergency incidents. Promote a professional image of Manchester Airport Group. Maintain the required level of professional competence to uphold regulatory compliance.
Maintain equipment and resources for operational readiness to specified standards to meet internal and external audit requirements.
The successful candidate will have ability to work without supervision while delivering work in agreed timescales, strong communications skills and great attention to detail.
You will have the ability to remain calm under physical and mental pressure when dealing with difficult and stressful life-threatening situations, able to work in confined spaces and work at height.

Minimum requirements for the role:
• Must be 18 Years old or over
• Hold a valid full, clean UK driving licence
• Must pass entry and physical fitness assessment, which includes tests for vertigo and claustrophobia
• Must pass Aviation Security disclosure and background checks
