As a key member of the Technology Delivery and Commercial Projects Team you’ll have overall responsibility for the leadership and performance management of a portfolio of technology led business change projects, programmes, and transformation initiatives with an annual value of circa £50+m, in support of the airports, MAG Technology and strategic partners. You’ll be accountable for ensuring all team members drive the creation of project plans to cover the full project lifecycle highlighting key milestones and dependencies leading to a critical path for delivery and smooth implementation to support teams, as well as reporting progress against plans to all interested parties, providing transparency of delivery for assigned portfolio. You’ll have ownership and management of the technology portfolio capital budget driven from assigned business cases ensuring appropriate KPIs are developed, benefit tracking is in place, and keeping that budget on track. You’ll have accountability for all governance aspects and for driving continual improvement, including gateway reviews, ad hoc assurance reviews and lessons learnt, as well as capturing and proactively managing risks. You’ll be responsible for developing the team and project resource, ensuring they have the right skills, providing early recognition of areas of improvement, and addressing issues as appropriate, providing mentoring as required.
You’ll be a strategic thinker with the ability to take a broad view of the business, industry, and environment to anticipate and plan for future with extensive large scale business change experience across multiple sectors. You’ll have excellent commercial and financial skills with experience of working to, and certification in PRINCE2, PMP, MoP or PPM. You’ll have the ability to communicate clearly and with impact at all levels of the organisation alongside excellent stakeholder management experience to board level. You’ll also be a proven coach and leader and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a highly evolving change environment. Experience in public sector procurement would be desirable. In terms of technology, you’ll have proven experience of managing complex IT infrastructure enabled programmes within a business undergoing a high level of parallel change programmes with proven experience of leading complex IT application software enabled programmes, including data and platform migrations. You’ll also have extensive knowledge of technology infrastructure platforms and architecture and experience in extending and integrating complex existing infrastructure operations (LAN, WLAN, Data Centre, Voice, Data cabling, CCTV, access control etc). An understanding and accreditation in ITIL would be desirable. You’ll also have demonstrable experience of developing strategic plans, and roadmaps, for the evaluation, development and deployment of IT services and programmes and to provide effective resource planning to ensure delivery of initiatives in the portfolio.
