As a Fabrication Technician, your role will involve inspecting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining trailed and towable Ground Support Equipment, plant, and fixed assets for Manchester Airport customers. You will be required to adhere to Civil Aviation Authority Safety Inspection Standards, manufacturers' specifications, and all relevant policies and procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting certified coded welding on critical components to ensure that repairs meet regulatory safety standards, as well as performing technical welding repairs on Manchester Airport's internal fleet. You will also be required to accurately complete all necessary documentation, including Job Cards, Inspection and Service Sheets, Work Orders, and Reports for the Motor Transport Management.
The successful candidate will have NVQ Level 3 Welding & Fabrication, MIG & TIG Welding to BS EN ISO standards, and a full UK Driving Licence. Experience in basic Mechanical repairs would be advantageous. Having a Forklift Truck Licence would also be an advantage, as well as IT Literacy and good communication skills. Must be a Team player with a great work ethic. The candidate should always ensure personal and others’ safety, follow the rules, instructions, and policies of the company, wear safety clothing, conduct only trained tasks, and report any hazards or irregularities.
