Because of the complexity of Spalding as a site, we are now recruiting for a finance professional with a strong management accountancy background to join us, in our onsite finance team as Business FP&A Manager. Working closely with multiple operational stakeholders, you will become a true finance business partner to the production sites where you be responsible for upskilling your stakeholders on their budgetary responsibilities as well as drilling down in to any out of budget costs and overspends.

The role:
Reporting in to the site Senior Financial Controller and leading a team of four finance professionals, you will take responsibility for business reporting (daily/weekly/monthly), rolling forecasts, month end closure and other key finance tasks and projects around business control. To be successful in this position you will need excellent organisational skills in order to deliver against tight business & financial deadlines. The ability to analyse and communicate financial information to non-financial personnel, providing recommendations and guidance is key as you business partner your stakeholders. As with all finance roles, strong Excel skills are necessary.

Duties will include:

• Performance Reporting - to ensure that all periodic reporting is prepared for BV Spalding in line with established deadlines.  These reports cover all aspects of the P&L, but with a clear focus on indirect costs and agency usage.  Identify and comment on exceptions, supporting the business managers to ensure a level of understanding and action is taken on the information provided.  To generate ad-hoc information (normally across indirect cost centres) to support the analysis of business performance.
• Business Partnering - build and manage relationships across the business with a focus on supporting our indirect cost managers to deliver profit improvement initiatives, becoming a trusted partner providing expert guidance that improves decision making and ultimately delivers benefits to the bottom line.
• Rolling Forecast - to manage the Spalding quarterly rolling forecast process and submission; converting weekly outlooks into quarterly rolling forecasts, generating bottom-up overhead forecasts with all cost centre managers to ensure buy in, with clearly defined stretch plans in place.
• Control Environment - to apply the Bakkavor control framework to BV Spalding, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting modifications as appropriate.  Be the lead on the control of agency invoicing for the site, liaising with agency providers and operational management where necessary to ensure the correct level of charge.
• Month End - manage the Spalding month end process, reviewing the results and reconciling to expected figures.  To prepare balance sheet account reconciliations for review and highlight any issues as applicable.
• Capital - To support the Senior Leadership Team in the financial management of capital projects, from original conception and writing of the proposal, to the reporting and control of the project spends, to final post project review. This extends to the management of non-capital projects which are required to be recorded and maintained in the same manner as Capital projects.
• Group Requirements – To liaise with group functions (e.g. internal audit, tax department) and external parties (e.g. external audit) as required.  To review reporting and control systems and suggest modifications in order that they comply with group standards.

If you hold or are working towards relevant qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA or equivalent, and possess the ability to manage large volumes of data into usable formats, along with accounting computer packages knowledge and excellent communication skills – this could be the perfect role for you.
