Job Overview:
The post holder will be expected to be able to provide the EH&S Manager with effective Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) support in compliance with statutory legal requirements.
Ensures and monitors safety in the workplace including the application and communication of health, safety and hazardous material standards, procedures and practices consistent with established company, environmental and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver effective EHS support to maintain safety in the workplace covering legal compliance and delivering to TE EHS standards
Develop and standardise management systems for EHS
Monitor and ensure the application and communication of hazardous material standards, procedures and practices is undertaken at site level
Audit the Safety Assessment for Effectiveness programme
Investigate and provide route cause analysis for serious safety and environmental matters
Oversee the provision of site EHS development programmes, based on sustainable corrective measures
Provide detailed EHS site audits with corrective actions identified for short, medium- and long-term improvements
Provide an interface with the TE EHS corporate team on environmental health and safety matters
Assist with the sites ISO14001 Environmental & ISO45001 Safety accreditations
Maintain and manage the site Business Continuity plan to TE standards
Participate in the implementation of the organization’s EHS programs and support the delivery of the organization’s EHS goals and strategy
Work with the EH&S Manager and the wider leadership team to translate site strategy into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives including KPI’s and methods to track them
Support the company with an effective controlled environmental management system and implement strategy for environmental and energy reduction
Communicate well with all company personnel and be able to present a smart, courteous, intelligent image to visiting Engineers and Representatives
Monitor and report organisational safety performance against the TEOA Safety Tool
Observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government Legislation
What your background should look like:
Minimum – IOSH Managing Safely
NEBOSH Certificate (or working towards)
University degree or equivalent level of qualification in safety, health, or an environmental discipline
An EH&S post graduate qualification may be substituted for EH&S competence gained through relevant and sufficient training and experience in excess of 1+ years.
Minimum 1+ years of EH&S experience required
Experience in a technical, engineering or manufacturing role preferred
Demonstrated communication, collaboration and team working skills preferred
Demonstrated ability in conducting audits and inspections of all aspects of EHS throughout a Site
Ability to think strategically whilst managing the day to day demands
Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level
Proven experience with the ability to optimise team performance and development
Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
