Maintaining and Commissioning Protection and Control systems in transformer stations.
Your job duties may include:
- Travel to various field locations to collect fault data and perform basic analysis
- Organize fault data and submit for analysis
- Gain understanding of overall power system operation
- Work along side field staff in troubleshooting system problems
- Access various electronic and electromechanical protection relays and equipment,
using a laptop computer.
- Testing/commissioning of new equipment and protection systems using a variety of test equipment.
This job will provide you with the following professional development:
- Apply knowledge from school to real applications
- Gain understanding of the power system and components
- Gain insight into the field of protection and control
- Gain field experience as an engineering technologist trainee
- Gain knowledge in communications with electronic devices
- Develop skills in reading prints/drawings and logic diagrams
