Are you an experienced Food Safety Manager, Quality Manager, or a Technical Manager within a food manufacturing environment, and looking for your next challenge? We have a new opportunity for a part-time job share for an experienced Compliance Manager in Tuscany Bakery.
Our Compliance Manager is the food safety and hygiene subject matter expert and will lead our operations in achieving and improving our compliance standards. You will support the site to always be audit ready for unannounced BRC audits, working with Kosher and Halal food standards, and have experience of managing external audits in your previous roles.
You’ll be our safe pair of hands, able to pick up the day to day from a supported handover whilst also being able to make your own impact with ongoing projects. We have a brilliant team in Wakefield and with additional support from our Centre Quality teams, you’ll be able to hit the ground running.
• You’ll have experience of managing food safety and a hygiene function within a food manufacturing business
• Have previously managed BRC audits
• A background and experience managing quality systems and external standards implementation
• Science or food-based experience with food technology qualifications or similar
• Level 4 HACCP & Food Safety qualifications as a minimum
• Trained and competent in COSHH & IOSH Managing Safely
• Working knowledge and understanding of food microbiology
• Knowledge of Quality and Food Safety systems and legislation
• Management of people & teams
Working closely with the Food Quality team and Manufacturing teams you will be the food safety & hygiene lead to ensure processes are proactively managed using evidence led data, continuous improvement techniques that are measured by company KPI’s and implementing the Unbeatable Quality Strategy to ensure Warburtons manufactures and distributes products to the required standard.
As part of our food technical management team and as our Compliance Manager, you will work in close conjunction with production, health & safety, and hygiene teams, driving a mixed agenda of planned and reactive work through quality and consistent processes. You will be able to build relationships quickly and effectively with the national Quality Compliance team, suppliers, auditors for food safety & hygiene and other site contacts.
Our Compliance Manager is responsible for implementing and managing the food safety and hygiene standards in the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that all relevant standards are achieved. You’ll work in partnership with the production teams to ensure operations are conducted in compliance with Warburtons standards whilst meeting all applicable external requirements. You’ll be the site lead for food safety requirements including microbiological product and environmental monitoring. Legionella and allergens.
You’ll be a key contributor to the generation and delivery of national and local strategies, management of budgets, profit delivery plans and implementation of business plans. Our Compliance Manager will be the food safety and hygiene subject matter expert in leading the site to achieving and improving compliance standards.
Working collaboratively, you’ll ensure that our colleagues fully understand the importance of food safety and hygiene at site; responsible for ensuring training and delivery plans are in place to enable our teams to have the appropriate skills and competency. Also working with our Head Office Quality team, manufacturing, and distribution to write and develop appropriate food safety and hygiene related training.
We are looking for you to have a coaching and motivational style to encourage the team to achieve plans, goals, and targets; working with site engagement plans to ensure delivery. You’ll be strong in people leadership and performance management with a natural communication style.
