Role Purpose

The role purpose is to aid in the adoption of Resource Ops business systems, across QinetiQ’s disciplines. Identify best practice and share data insight to ensure continuous improvement with processes, tools and culture. The role will involve collaborating enthusiastically with a large stakeholder community across the UK, whilst operating as part of the Epicflow Business As Usual (BAU) high performing team.


Accountabilities of the Resource Systems Support Manager

 

•    Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure the aligned approach for embedment and continue a sustainable business rhythm.
•    Work with the RO Systems Leads and the IT Technical Team to triage and respond to system queries/issues on a timely basis.
•    Identify gaps and work with the RO Development Lead to identify solutions, contribute, review and update existing training and guidance documents, to reflect organisation changes, upgrades, or process changes.  

•    Support relevant training alongside the RO Systems Development Lead, e.g. Face to Face, Groups, Leaders, 1-2-1, virtual etc to support and enable system embedment in areas of the business requiring further guidance and knowledge on how to best adopt the Aligned Ways of Working (AWOW) methodology and the tool.
•    Identify conflicting data highlighted by Epicflow and work with the stakeholders involved, assisting where appropriate to provide guidance to resolve the issues or problems identified. (Examples of this could be Resourcing overload/underload, Project plan level of detail and Project movements not implement)
•    Work closely with Teams to ensure they are identifying issues within EF and have the knowledge to rectify them.
•    Review areas of the business data on Epicflow to identify improvements and work with them to effectively implement relevant guidance and processes.

 

Key Capabilities/Knowledge of the Resource Systems Support Manager
 

•    Confidence to identify issues and work with teams to rectify any problems using guidance material.
•    Ability to ensure that decisions are implemented in accordance with agreed plans and robust conversations to challenge accepted working practices.
•    Exhibit flexible and adaptable qualities to be a high performer in a dynamic environment. 
•    Adapts to changes in requirements and feels comfortable to seek guidance by exception from their Senior Manager on how to respond
•    Good organisational and communication skills to include a wide variety of different stakeholders.
•    Demonstrable negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
•    Able to rapidly assimilate a complex situation, identify and focus on the key issues to achieve a desired business outcome.

 

Essential Experience of the Resource Systems Support Manager
 

•    Level 3 education or equivalent experience with typically 3 - 5 yrs further experience working across a multifaceted team.
•    Experience of managing and allocating Resources.
•    Proven experience of interacting with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders and demonstrates strong and adaptable communication skills.
 

Desirable
•    Knowledge of Project Management, Project Delivery, Controls or similar
•    Efficient in problem solving techniques 

•    Ability to travel to multiple UK Site locations
