The role
As the Senior Electronics Laboratory Technician you will manage our Engineering and Scientific labs at Malvern and provide technical expertise for our RF and electronics labs within QinetiQ.
Day-to-day, you will support the engineering and scientific teams delivering radio frequency research, product development, laser and optical science alongside test & evaluation activities. The role will coordinate and de-conflict demands on both the technical equipment and use of the laboratories and workspaces.
You will be managing a large pool of complex test and measurement equipment. To be successful you will have a hands on understanding of the test and measurement equipment (Digital Multi- meters, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analysers, Network Analysers etc.), be able to advise on equipment set up, conduct fault diagnosis, assess and accept equipment returned from calibration or repair and assist in the specification of new or replacement equipment.
This is a full time, permanent role based at Malvern Technology Centre; some limited travel to other UK sites may be required.
Essential experience of the Senior Electronics Laboratory Technician
Experience working with complex electronic test equipment including, set up, use/operation and periodic calibration of: multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, power supplies, RF switches, power meters, logic analysers, network analysers etc.
