Be part of the QinetiQ journey. We have a requirement for an Operations Security Engineer managing all the crypto, ITAR and Signals at our BUTEC site located in the Kyle of Lochalsh.
The Role
As a Crypto ITAR Custodian, you'll be responsible for the safe custody. Registration, mustering, amendment, issue, safe handling and disposal of Cryptographic items held at their locations carrying out the complex task of protecting the HMG Communication security, ensuring holders/users are competent in the handling and the use of Cryptographic items.
Day to Day you will:
• Maintain an accurate, up to date system of the whole life accounting for all cryptographic items issued to QinetiQ MOD BUTEC.
• You will check and sign cryptographic items issued on receipt and ensure all personnel employed on hold the appropriate levels of security vetting and those who have access to cryptographic items are authorised.
• Maintain and establish a system for internal stock checks of all cryptographic items carrying out and certifying the routine destruction of the cryptographic items.
• You will maintain a Cryptographic/standing order book and ensure annual re-certification that orders have been read and understood.
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and based fully on site at MOD BUTEC.
Skills and Experience of the Crypto ITAR Custodian
• Good experience of audit, assurance and compliance techniques.
• Demonstrable experience of business compliance tooling.
• Good experience with administration techniques.
• Willingness to undertake Crypto material.
• Being self-motivated, organised, professional
Highly Desirable Experience of the Crypto ITAR Custodian
• Experience in a security-centric industry such as defence, policing or intelligence.
The successful candidate will be able to achieve SC Clearance and be willing to go through DV Clearance.
