Job Overview

Perform business analysis using various techniques, e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining to create high quality reports to be used for operational and executive level decision making.

 

This position offers a hybrid opportunity to work both remotely and onsite and therefore requires that the incumbent reside within a commutable distance to Greater Cincinnati. Hybrid work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

Essential Functions

  • Determine best practices and develop actionable data-driven insights and recommendations to support the organizational decision-making.
  • Create and present executive summaries, executive briefings, benchmark reports and dashboards.
  • Work with departments to define business problems and questions; perform data analysis.
  • Collaborate with data architect or application specialists to identify the data sources required to support an analytical project or development of complex report.
  • Research, collect, develop, and implement data analysis and identify data quality issues.
  • Utilize data integration tools to automate data extraction, transformation, and storage to deliver reports and dashboards.
  • Evaluate diverse data sets, identify new types of data and data sources to determine patterns; synthesize data into meaningful metrics and numbers; monitor data quality, identify inconsistencies, and develop recommendations to optimize business processes and performance. 
  • Develop load plan using data integration tools (Informatica Cloud Data Integrator), or similar program, to quickly demonstrate new concepts, reports and dashboards; utilize reporting tools (like PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik) to build reports and dashboards.
  • Assess current set of BI and analytical tools and its usage and work on consolidation plan while researching on new tools to add to address the missing capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Trainings/Certifications

Required Experience

Three (3) years of experience in reporting, ETL processing and/or background in complex data analysis techniques.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, analytics, data science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of proven experience as a Report/Analytics Developer or Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role leveraging tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik.
  • Deep experience in creating reports and dashboards and providing data insights.
  • Experience working with cloud hosted BI and analytical tools.
  • Proficient in SQL along with 3+ years of experience leveraging data integration tools.
  • Experience working in Data Warehouse and Data Lakehouse in a cloud setting (AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
  • Strong familiarity with data governance, data architecture, data modeling, data collection, data cleansing, and transformation processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Prefer knowledge and understanding of the higher education sector.
