The Senior Accountant is an integral part of our Accounting team based out of our US - Quincy, IL - Office (MNNS) site.
Position Purpose
Provide accounting management support related to the proper capture of transaction and close of the legal entity books within JDE. Support accounting project work along with improving segregation of duties within the department
Key Responsibilities
Primary hands on support of the accounting functions within U.S. legal entity businesses.
Assist with cross-divisional accounting as needed
Perform monthly & quarterly general ledger reporting
Comply with required tax requests and filings
Support internal review of organization to ensure compliance with SOX requirements
Provide insight into business performance and participate in scenario planning to optimize financial performance
Assist with data requests made by outside auditors
Support process change and improvement
Accountabilities
For the proper maintenance and timely closing of the company books
For proactive analysis and reporting of business operations
For developing and maintaining positive working relationships with peers in other divisions and functional areas
For the timely completion of the monthly and quarterly standard reporting package
Technical Competencies Required
Thorough understanding of accounting and financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
IT
Strong Excel skills – data analysis and model building
Word and PowerPoint skills – including developing presentations
Working experience with an ERP system - JDE experience an advantage
Business Competencies Required
Three to five years’ experience in accounting
Strong command of business operations with the ability to understand key business drivers (products, customers, and processes) and how to influence them
Demonstrate ability to cultivate internal business relationships to drive cross-functional results

Education
Undergraduate degree in Accounting
