Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of all production employees on assigned shift; ensuring production goals are met; reviewing and interpreting production orders, schedules and back-order reports and prioritizing work; accordingly, maintaining record keeping and reports; monitoring inventory levels; and ensuring quality products are being made according to specifications.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Supervision
Oversees work performed on the line; coordinates the work of production workers to ensure production goals are met.
Participates in and provides input to Line Manager on all performance reviews; advises of any issues or problems.
Adopts and enforces company policies and procedures regarding health and safety regulations.
Ensures employees receive proper training.
Ensures employees follow company policies such as break times, staying in assigned areas, etc.
Performs Line Manager duties as required and/or assigned
Develops, maintain and implement policies and procedures to improve productions, equipment usage, job performance and quality of product methods.
Continually and proactively demonstrates strong leadership and managerial skills in training, motivating, reviewing, coaching, developing, and retaining a high-performance team.
Make staffing arrangements to ensure lines are adequately staffed.
Together with Line Manager conducts timely and accurate employee performance evaluations: addresses performance issue.
Production
Reviews and interpret production orders, production schedules, back-order reports and priority lists; ensures daily, weekly, and monthly production goals are met.
Prepares schedules of work to be performed; assigns and allocates employees accordingly.
Meets with Line Manager to discuss production goals, schedules, and inventory levels.
Schedule maintenance and setup of all equipment utilizing maintenance schedule and internal maintenance department personnel.
Record Keeping and Reporting
Inputs production orders and confirms in SAP.
Maintains appropriate records such as shift logs, QMS documents, etc.
Creates work request forms for maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
Monitors equipment and production to ensure goals are met.
Supply Raw Material
Visually checks workstations to determine if supplies are getting low; pulls supplies from shelves; transports materials to and from workstations utilizing push cart, forklift or pallet jack; updates Kanban systems; notifies Line Manager when non-stock supplies are at reorder levels.
Orders component parts and raw materials from warehouse including but not limited to boxes, bags, components, etc.
Monitors inventory of raw materials, parts and miscellaneous items utilizing visual checks and computer reports; prepares reports and submit to Line Manager.
Teamwork
Assists other lines to ensure everything is running according to schedule; rotates and fills in where needed.
Quality
Inspects the overall quality of produced products to ensure working according to specifications; makes adjustments as necessary and rejects products outside of specifications.
Cleaning and Area Upkeep
Performs the 6S activities (sort, straighten, shine, safety, standardize and sustain) to organize and manage workstations.
Other
Attends scheduled meetings, shift overlap meetings, safety meetings, daily management meetings, and other as required and/or assigned.
Performs other duties as required and/or assigned
Special Job Dimensions
Some travel may be required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of computer software such as SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge of companies’ policies and procedures regarding health and safety issues.
Knowledge of basic English, including reading, writing and arithmetic.
Good manual dexterity skills, working with very small parts.
Ability to solve problems and make quick decisions.
Ability to perform repetitive functions.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment.
Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings and schematics.
Ability to operate equipment such as manufacturing machine.
Ability to Lead employees in the same work performed.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
6 - 7 years of related supervisory work experience.
