An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Climate specialist to focus on engagement to join our RLAM’s Responsible Investment team in London on a permanent contract.

As Senior engagement analyst (climate), you will be one of a selected group of climate SMEs and contribute to further develop and deliver our Net zero stewardship programme.  You will also participate in the development of our Net zero strategy and be a point of contact for internal and external climate queries. You would be expected to have an established climate network (e.g. academic, trade associations, investment networks, etc) and to build that over time.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a solid climate background and interest in contributing to our engagement and net zero strategies. You will work closely with investment teams, climate SMEs, Royal London Group and responsible investment team colleagues to deliver the engagement programme and net zero strategy stated objectives.

About the role

• Develop and deliver RLAM’s Net zero stewardship programme in close collaboration with other members of the RI team (engagement, research, voting and operations), by keeping abreast of latest techniques, trends and methods for climate engagement (e.g., in collaboration with CA100+, IIGCC, PRI and clients).
• Participate in climate working groups and committees project supporting RLAM's climate commitments and demonstrating leadership in our industry.
• Support client queries, reporting and knowledge development in RLAM’s front office and other departments.
• Contribute to the thought leadership, processes, and systems development within the engagement team.

About you

• Proven climate knowledge.
• Previous experience delivering corporate engagement projects within an investment environment with a focus on climate issues.
• Experience in end-to-end project management, adding value and originality is an advantage.
• Self-sufficient and capable of running corporate engagement projects and delegating tasks with acute attention to detail.
• Ability to take informed risks.
• Nimble working style and able to navigate hierarchy to progress tasks as needed.
• Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills.
• IMC/CFA or CFA Climate and Investment qualifications desirable.
• Previous experience in data manipulation/analytics desirable
• Technical proficiency, e.g., through knowledge and/or previous use of SQL desirable.
