Job Title: Senior Sustainability and Stewardship Manager

We are currently looking for a Senior Sustainability and Stewardship Manager to join the Group Sustainability and Stewardship team on a permanent basis. This role can be based out of any of our UK offices including Alderley Edge, Edinburgh and London.

As Senior Sustainability and Stewardship Manager, you will work hand in hand with all key business areas including our Asset Manager to strengthen our policymaker engagement on key areas such as UK energy infrastructure and blended finance. You will have significant influence in shaping our sustainability and responsible investment strategy and contributing to our wider business purpose outcome of moving fairly to a sustainable world.

About the role

• Challenges and support the business in the delivery of Group-wide climate commitments and actions. 
• Provides expert advice in incorporating climate change considerations and sustainable outcomes into business decision-making and organisational practices including in investment decisions.
• Shapes climate and sustainability policy and represent externally to influence climate and sustainability developments.
• Develops and supports delivery of Royal London’s sustainability and stewardship narrative to internal and external stakeholders.
• Takes a lead in enabling Royal London to continuously meet its climate and other sustainability reporting and disclosure requirements.
• Contributes to Royal London’s net zero commitments.
• Provides subject matter expertise and coaching on emerging external trends in relation to regulation, policy and market practice.

About you

• Knowledge and experience working within the financial services sector, with strong understanding of responsible investment.
• Strong knowledge and passionate about sustainability and climate change
• Achievement of qualifications within Responsible Investment such as ESG certificate or CFA level 1 is desirable.
• Strong networking, writing and presentation skills.
• Capable of building strong external relationships with regulatory, policy and other industry stakeholders.
