How You'll Help Us Connect The World:
The Electronic Design Engineer will be a member of our RF Engineering team based out of our Scottish office in Fife. You will be responsible for the development of new designs and cost optimization of the existing products for local manufacture. Candidates must be able to provide real time solutions to design issues discovered in the manufacturing process and recommend/document the resolution. Also, must be knowledgeable in manufacturing processes and technologies to support factory and part evaluations.
Responsible for the design, development, evaluation and analysis for an antenna control system.
Performs component level design and initial testing. Develops and executes product procedures for production testing and supports integration plans for new or updated products.
Test/evaluate competing products and technologies.
Ability to Investigate and troubleshoot working prototypes/existing products.
Stays current with embedded systems technology and research new technology developments.
Documents procedures/processes related from initial designs through to final product manufacturing.
Support Sales team and Product Line Management by assisting in the preparation of bids, proposals, and Request for Quote for current and potential customers.
Under the leadership of more senior engineers, develop technical solutions/product designs to serve customer requirements.
Prepare part specifications. Researches and evaluates potential vendors and makes recommendations as to the final vendor selection. Work closely with our R&D centers in UK, India and China.
Required Qualifications For Consideration:
Minimum of 3 years of experience with embedded control systems, such as STM32, AVR, Arduino.
Firmware design such as microcontroller programming (MATLAB, C, etc), motor motion control and data processing, experienced with programing software such as IAR Systems and Keil MDK-ARM.
Electronic control system design experience utilizing sensors, actuators and microcontrollers.
Experienced with electronics circuit design and PCB layout capture, experienced with PCB design software such as Mentor Designer, Altium Designer, etc.
Familiar with communication protocol such as USB, Serial, Ethernet, etc.
Able to design to obtain CE marking.
Ability to set up and carry out tests on various electronics components using oscilloscope etc. and creation of test fixtures to support high volume production.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills to sufficiently understand customer requirements and deliver results that meet customer requirements.
Proficient in English- Good verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills.
Self-motivated, creative and able to work independently.
Familiar with working with NPI and operations to move product from development to volume.
UK Drivers License would be beneficial.
