EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

We are looking for an experienced ABAP Application Developer to come in and join the team to provide technical support and contribute to new developments for our live SAP system.  You will be leading on the establishment and continued review of our core ECC functionality (PM, SD, MM, FI,HR, Asset Management, IS-U), PPM, CRM as well as Integration work with SAP Success Factors and ARIBA.

 

You’ll be required to support the diagnosis of operational incidents and to analyse functional requirements, as well as create high level and detailed designs and create technical specifications.  You will be charged with writing ABAP code, assisting testing, plus deploying and supporting change releases, as well as generally supporting SAP.

 

Other key accountabilities include: -

  • Responsible for managing the triaging of Incidents and Service Requests within area of expertise and ownership as per established SLA’s.
  • Good understanding of the rationale behind any custom developed / existing code in the respective SAP modules
  • Communicates effectively with the Business users, Technical Team members and IS users for ensuring speedy and timely resolution of issues / problems.
  • Supports transition from development to support, as and when any projects / enhancements are moved to production and provide sign-off against agreed acceptance criteria.
  • Create, reviews and approves documents and technical specs generated on an ongoing basis for changes made to the baseline documents received during transition.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

In order to succeed in this role, we will be looking for you to have core technical skills including as solid core of ABAP skills (Reports, ALV, Screen development, enhancement framework) as well as broad experience across a range of SAP ECC modules.  We will be looking for you to have experience in API development and Proxy development, as well as Object Oriented Development.

 

As you will be working as part of a dedicated team, we’ll want you to have excellent communication skills as well as a willingness for team working (within a multi-discipline team) and capable of working without direct supervision.  Excellent analytical thinking skills & great attention to detail will be beneficial.
