EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Network Control team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Telemetry Control Technician
In your new role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective operation and control of the company's assets through our Telemetry system (eSCADA), which will have a significant impact on several key operational delivery indicators.
You will proactively manage water supplies to 7.4 million customers and make key decisions on asset operation to ensure operational resilience and protect the reputation of the business. You will be responsible for the management and control of hundreds of assets and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in real-time across a 24/7, 365-day window.
You’ll work closely with other technical roles within the Operational Control Centre (OCC) to ensure full source-to-tap asset management.
Be responsible for monitoring and responding to telemetry alarms which let us know when there is a problem with part of our Water Supply & Distribution System. You will use your fantastic analytical skills to investigate the problem and if needed send someone out to fix it.
You will also work proactively to ensure that our treated water storage reservoirs are kept operating at their optimum levels which may mean increasing or decreasing the amount of water going into them.
For this role you’ll be working a shift pattern on a 7-week rotation. These shifts will average 37 hours a week. We are a 24/7 department which means our teams work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re looking for our Telemetry Technician to be able to remain calm when working under pressure as you will be processing complex information and problems, sometimes with very tight time constraints.
Ideally, we require you to have English & Maths GCSE Level 5 or above.
