Assurance Analyst - Waste at Severn Trent

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

Your role will be responsible for ensuring our reported sewer blockage numbers are a true and accurate representation of our performance and requires someone who can bring together the technical understanding of sewerage operations and blockage definition with an analytical view of the associated reporting risks.

 

The role holder will be expected to manage their own workload and multiple priorities at any one time and be skilled at managing expectations at all levels. They will also be presenting ideas, updates and proposals to senior stakeholders to gain support and drive delivery of new plans.

 

We are seeking a driven individual who can very quickly build a credible reputation and work with our waste operational teams, strategic contract partners and customer teams at all levels though on-going collaboration.

 

You’ll also need:

 

  • A track record of stakeholder engagement / management, demonstrating excellence in building relationships, gaining credibility and ongoing stakeholder management at all levels
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to quickly understand processes and identify interdependencies
  • Great analytical and problem solving skills – ability to analyse data, think flexibly, identify issues and develop improvement options
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to listen effectively
  • A ‘Right First Time’ attitude
  • Creative thinking skills allowing you to take ideas and translate into practice within Severn Trent Water with an infectious drive, passion and energy to take colleagues on the journey with you

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

Some of your other key accountabilities will include: 

 

  • Monitoring the feedback from our field teams and identifying changes which may indicate risk to the accuracy of our reporting
  • Monitoring the outputs of our assurance checks and identifying early changes to trends which may represent a risk to the accuracy of our reporting.
  • Setting the levels of checks required to mitigate specific risks and monitor delivery
  • Building expert knowledge of blockage reporting requirements
  • Becoming an expert advisor on blockage reporting for the business
  • Facilitating external audit sessions
  • Producing weekly reporting figures for the performance team
  • Close liason with improvement analysts and operational teams to drive continuous improvement of operational feedback
  • Supporting the Performance Team in understanding trends and assurance impact.
  • Providing information and assurance to stakeholders at senior levels in the business.
