If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. There really is something for everyone here.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We are excited to announce a new opportunity to join our team as a Water Telemetry Control Technician.
It will be your job to ensure that our Wonderful Water is available to supply our customers day and night. You will respond to asset failures & plan ahead to move water around our network of pipes in the most efficient way. You will be the main person to talk to our operational teams, to ensure that if something is broken, they can fix it.
In this role you will be responsible for monitoring and responding to telemetry alarms which let us know when there is a problem with part of our Water Supply & Distribution System. You will use your fantastic analytical skills to investigate the problem and if needed send someone out to fix it.
You will also work proactively to ensure that our treated water storage reservoirs are kept operating at their optimum levels which may mean increasing or decreasing the amount of water going into them.
You will be joining a supportive and high performing team within our Operational Control Centre. You will be at the centre of our business, communicating with numerous other teams running our Water Treatment, Supply and Distribution Operations.
In this exciting role, you’ll be given the opportunity to build a career in an area focused on keeping our customers supplied with our Wonderful Water. We have an excellent progression process within our department which rewards you as your skills & experience grow.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right qualifications but we value character, positivity, and a caring attitude in equal weight.
We’ll give you all the training, guidance and support you need. All we ask from you is that you’re a team player, you’re driven and tenacious, you think on your feet, and you enjoy problem solving.
You must be able to remain calm when working under pressure as you will be processing complex information and problems, sometimes with very tight time constraints.
Ideally, we require you to have English & Maths GCSE Level 5 or above.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involved. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
