We have just opened our  brand-new Visitor Attraction site at Lisvane Llanishen, North Cardiff, which is open all year round. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to join Welsh Water. The site boasts, a state-of-the-art Visitor Attraction building with 200 cover restaurant, balcony with views over both reservoirs, group and cubicle changing rooms, both land and water based activities, education learning space, bird hides & islands, meeting rooms and a Grab & Go. What you’ll be responsible for

 

Come and join our great team at our Lisvane Visitor Centre as a Chef, to help us cook delicious meals for our customers to enjoy all year round, if you have a passion for food and a great attitude then you already have the right ingredients to join our Team!

 

Duties will include:

 

  • Ensuring the safety of all persons on site
  • To order all kitchen and goods for resale supplies from designated suppliers.
  • Maintain upkeep of all kitchen HACCP records at all times and to required standard.
  • Prepare, cook and serve meals, manage and organise café assistants to deliver high quality customer service.
  • Menu creation and design to achieve and maximise Gross Margin.
  • Liaise with and manage external bookings of meeting rooms.
  • Manage the front of house team to ensure excellent customer experience.
  • Supervise and identify training needs of colleagues to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Strive to develop and improve the customer experience offering
  • Ensure the service in the café and restaurant area is maintained to a high standard
  • Maintain the food hygiene standards, upkeep and tidiness of the kitchen, retail and restaurant areas in accordance with DCWW Food safety procedures.
  • Engage with customers as an ambassador of Welsh Water

About you

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

  • Commercial catering and kitchen supervisory experience
  • Practical health & safety and food safety experience in a visitor attraction or retail or restaurant environment
  • Catering / Retail customer service knowledge or specialism
  • Working with the general public
  • Ability to work on own initiative, and manage a large team 
  • Commercial awareness
  • Up to date Food Hygiene Level 3 minimum certification would be desirable, as training will be provided 

Good to know

 

Seasonal positions available - full time & part hours 

 

  • Site based working 
  • Requirement to work weekends and bank holidays on a rotation basis (no split shifts)
