What you’ll be responsible for
Management Reporting Systems
- Undertake the role of senior system administrator for specific health and safety IT systems e.g. Assure Health and Safety Management System and Display Screen Equipment.
- To review incident report information and clarify report details, in order to monitor and advise the team regarding injury, incident and illness data.
- Ensure the accurate and timely production of management information from the above systems, including reports for Board, DCE and Leadership Teams.
- Producing health and safety performance reporting statistics for external use, including the Annual Performance Report and external benchmarking programmes.
- Producing Welsh Water’s F2508’s for enforcing authorities.
- Providing administrative support for additional Assure risk modules, including incidents, inspections, risk assessments and COSHH assessments
- Support system developments, improvements and updates
Communications & training
- Assist in the co-ordination and delivery of the H&S communication plan, by ensuring articles are prepared in a timely manner, in line with corporate messages.

This includes taking a lead role in developing and reviewing User guides Provision of support with information contained on the health and safety intranet pages, including uploading, deleting and archiving of information.

- Formulation, co-ordination and delivery of colleague and contractor training on the Health and safety information systems.
Advice & technical role
- Provide advice to customers on low risk Health, Safety and Wellbeing issues associated with DCWW Health and Safety Team and procedures. Working with and supporting allocated colleagues and customers to provide health and safety services.
- Provision of risk management and health and safety and wellbeing advice for line managers and colleagues within allocated low risk/office environments, e.g. undertaking or co-ordinating DSE assessments and supporting new and expectant mother risk assessments.
- Provide assistance for health and safety improvement projects, which includes arranging meetings, monitoring completion of actions and setting agendas.
- Support the development and delivery of allocated health and safety procedures and improvement activities linked to low risk/office environments.

About you
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Ability to build relationships and demonstrable skill negotiating and influencing with internal and external customers
- Experience of analysing and interpreting data and producing accurate management reports in a timely manner
- Experience of producing accurate, clear and effective written documents with good attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- IT literate - Strong Excel skills with experience of using formulas and creating pivot tables. Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel as the job requires and to be flexible in working hours where necessary
- Credible team player
The following skills and qualification are desirable:
- Qualified to NEBOSH Certificate level or equivalent or prepared to work towards this. Actively participating in CPD and/or willing to develop.
- Previous experience of Assure or other EHS Management System, ideally as systems administrator
- Knowledge/experience of the provision of health and safety advice in low risk environments.
- Knowledge and understanding of Welsh Water or Water Industry
- Experience within a training environment

- Flexible hybrid working with requirement to be in the office around 2 days per week
