Working within Integrated Technology Services (ITS) and under the direction of the SAP Collaboration Centre Lead, the SAP Senior Solution Specialist will use their experience and expertise to lead the proactive drive for optimum value from current and future investments in SAP Solutions, whist ensuring alignment with and aiding delivery of the Welsh Water Business Plans. This will be achieved by working with a number of stakeholders both internal and external to Welsh Water, including Process Owners, Business Partners, Support Teams, ITS Partners, SAP and the Welsh Water SAP community. Duties will include:
1. Leading the proactive drive across Welsh Water to seek opportunities to innovate business processes and associated SAP solutions to enable delivery of the Welsh Water Business Plan for the assigned area of expertise whilst ensuring that investments in the SAP platform are cost effective and for the long term therefore ensuring maximum benefit from spend.
2. Responsible for increasing speed of innovation and enhancement within the SAP Solutions that are included under the assigned area of expertise.
3. Eliminate problems and introduce benefit by undertaking potentially complex root cause analysis and finding innovative and fast delivery of system solutions for which there may or may not be a quick or standard solution.
4. Continually assessing the impact of emerging SAP technologies and product roadmaps against business process needs and interpreting business value against the Welsh Water Business Plan for SAP stakeholders so that a clear roadmap can be agreed and maintained for the future of SAP Solutions at Welsh Water.
5. Working with a number of stakeholders across Welsh Water and externally to promote “the art of the possible” relating to latest SAP technologies (HANA, Mobile, Cloud solutions etc.) understanding where the benefit of the technology can be applied to improve the performance of Welsh Water against the Business Plans.
6. Engaging with stakeholders across the business and ITS including Senior Managers to understand their processes, pain areas and key business drivers under the Welsh Water Business Plan so that any recommendations for innovation and enhancement of the SAP solutions is aligned and agreed.
7. Working with Process Owners and Business Analysts to ensure that business process requirements are clearly defined.
8. Transitioning requirements into functional definition for partner SAP development.
9. Assuring that partner delivered solutions adhere to Welsh Water (and SAP best practice) standards, including SAP Processes, SAP Configuration and SAP Customisation (bespoke development).
10. Responsible for working closely with the Support teams to provide best practice guidance and advice to ensure the maximum stability and availability of the SAP Systems already in place.
