• Be accountable for the development and maintenance of the technical capability of Analytial Services at both Glaslyn and Bretton sites.
• Interpretation of new technical requirements to ensure that Analytical Services continues to meet all regulatory obligations and requirements of ISO17025 and DWTS.
• Act as the recognised expert for technical support and advice on matters related to analytical testing for the Water Services business.
• Role will be the designated Deputy Technical Manager for purposes of ISO17025 and DWTS accreditation as specified in Clause 4.1 of the standard.
• Develop and Manage Analytical staff technical training program.
• Develop and Manage Analytical Services technical audit program.
• Represent DCWW on relevant internal and external technical forum, e.g. SCA Steering Group.
• Act as Project Management lead for Laboratory innovation and development projects.
• To manage the Analytical Services Technical Team for the monitoring of water quality for the purpose of protecting public health.
• Plan the implementation and development of new systems and services for analytical testing.
• Plan and deliver Technical training and development of Analytical Services staff.
• To manage the process for technical enquiries, and coordinate between the laboratory and operational delivery teams on technical matters.
• Keep up to date with current techniques, topics and legislation to ensure accurate implementation of their requirements.
• Prioritisation of resources and budget for the Analytical Services Technical Team.
• Manage the capital expenditure budget for Analytical Services.
• Produce and present business cases for the purchase of new analytical instrumentation and introduction of new processes and analytical methods.
• Identify analytical testing research opportunities and innovations and manage Analytical Services research program.
