What you’ll be responsible for

Water Network Alliance Commercial Team

 

•    Working for and together with, the Water Network Alliance Commercial team to provide and support exceptional knowledge on processes and procedures to support all Commercial activity ensuring that the function has a first-class reputation for delivery and service.
•    Reporting on the commercial and operational performance of a circa. £35-40m per annum R&M contract delivered by the Water Network Alliance
•    Administration of NEC Contracts 
•    Review, assess and implement Compensation events using CEMAR.
•    Assess defined cost submissions in line with the Schedule of cost components contained within the contract.
•    Implementation and reporting of appropriate best practice procedures from across the water industry, internal and external stakeholders across the construction industry.
•    Validate and agree contract values and target costs with the Alliance Partner.
•    Carry out monthly valuations of completed work and recommendations for payment.
•    Carry out monthly site visits auditing works carried out on site.
•    Line managing and Mentoring Junior members of the commercial team.
•    Support the learning and professional development of the Commercial Team.

About you

Qualifications

  • HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or equivalent appropriate professional body qualification

 

Experience

  • Ideally a minimum 3 years’ experience within the utilities industry
  • Working knowledge of corporate systems i.e. SAP
  • Detailed and relevant knowledge of current Commercial processes and procedures
  • Competent in the use of the NEC Suite of contracts
  • The ability to administer the contract using CEMAR or other commercial management software

  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
  • Excellent analytical and data interrogation skills and an ability to extract relevant information and present it in a logical and structured manner
  • Excellent people management and motivational leadership with a track record of delivering outcomes and achievement of key targets
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to translate initiatives into actions that are fully understood by the team
  • Ability to manage effective relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to achieve business result

 

Good to know

 

  • Flexible working: 2-3 office days per week plus option to work from home
  • 37 hours, 5 days Monday-Friday fixed
  • Car allowance included (£5K)
