Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Test Scientist to join our expanding test team, this role is based on-site in our facility in Crawley. The Test Scientist will work on developing novel coatings for use in our PCB fuel cells, working as part of a team to conduct hands-on ink and coating evaluation, as well as performing failure analysis, material inspection, along with electrochemical and other laboratory testing. The role will suite an applicant with a history of implementing and conducting rigorous laboratory test procedures and experience producing high quality testing results.
Principal Accountabilities
Undertake and develop robust procedures to conduct electrochemical corrosion experiments in the laboratory
Support the Corrosion Lead in delivering results to develop Bramble’s passivation inks, this will include electrochemical, physical and resistance testing using laboratory equipment
Support the Platforms team to evaluate Bramble’s sensor technology and perform regular quality control testing of devices
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality and consistency of testing in the passivation laboratory
Follow health and safety guidelines and, where necessary, complete new risk assessments to uphold a high standard of laboratory safety

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Degree or equivalent in relevant scientific or engineering discipline (chemistry, chemical engineering, etc.)
Demonstratable industrial experience in a laboratory environment
Previous experience managing laboratory testing and the delivery of quality test results
Risk assessments and health and safety understanding
Use of methodical processes to solve complex issues
Self-starter able to work both autonomously and part of a team
Good oral and written communication skills

Experience in electrochemical or materials corrosion research and development
Experience of working with hazardous materials
Experience working in an industrial research environment
