Role
Do you have a passion for user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design? Are you eager to learn the ropes of building and maintaining a design system? If so, we'd love for you to join our team as a UX/UI Engineer Summer Intern! In this exciting Summer internship, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of our UI Design Library, FlightSuit. You'll work alongside experienced designers and engineers to create, improve, and document reusable UI components that ensure a consistent and delightful user experience across all our products.What you'll learn:
- Gain hands-on experience with building and maintaining a UI Design Library.
- Deepen your understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices.
- Develop your front-end development skills (React, HTML, CSS, Javascript).
- Learn how to effectively collaborate with designers and engineers in a fast-paced environment.
- Get a taste of what it's like to work in a professional UX/UI team.
- Build tools that will help understand the usage, impact and understand user behavior into the UI Components.
What we're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a degree in UX/UI Design, Computer Science, or a related field (or recent graduate).
- Component-based user interface development experience, including how to construct and deconstruct components, with a focus on creating composable and reusable UI elements.
- Strong understanding of front-end development technologies (React, HTML, CSS).
- Fair understanding of fundamental UX principles (e.g., user research, interaction design, visual design).
- Component-based user interface development experience, including how to construct and deconstruct components, with a focus on creating composable and reusable UI elements.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A passion for learning and a willingness to take on new challenges.
- Experience working with a UI component library.
- Experience with a UX design tool (e.g., Figma, Sketch) is a plus.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
- Experience working closely with UX Designers and UI Engineers.
- A portfolio showcasing your design or development skills.

Your total compensation package will be based on job-related knowledge, education, certifications and location, per our aligned ranges.
