Description
We have an exciting new opportunity for someone keen to develop their underwriting career to join our US Technology team, who are recognised within the market as being a highly specialised and expert team of technology underwriters.
Our US technology team is at the forefront of underwriting SME emerging technology risks and has enjoyed rapid growth over the last few years, and as a result we are looking for someone to join our successful team as we develop opportunities to branch out into writing new business.
We are consistently exploring developing technology and looking for new ways to provide first class support to the world’s most creative and disruptive new businesses, whilst understanding how quickly the risks facing these emerging industries can evolve.
About the role
The available role is for an Assistant Underwriter. Our Assistant Underwriters work predominantly on our renewable business, however, are also given the opportunity to work on some new business.
You will consider submissions for technology businesses domiciled in the US and be able to offer a cross-class package policy solution including E&O, Cyber and General Liability. You will be required to respond to and manage enquiries from brokers in a timely and professional manner, produce new and renewal quotations within agreed SLAs and document underwriting rationale.
Our Assistant Underwriters are encouraged to seek out and proactively develop new broker relationships and to work with the Underwriters to manage our key partner relationships
About you
We are looking for driven, self-starters with a strong work ethic who can contribute to a fast-paced working environment and work within a high performance team. You will need to be sales and service focussed, confident and personable on the phone and in front of our customers and be able to demonstrate a hunger and aptitude to support growth within the team. You will be analytical with strong attention to detail but also able to reach conclusions quickly and make effective decisions.
You will be expected to work at a high pace and intensity that underpins the successful framework of the CFC business and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support our ambitious growth plans. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience within the insurance industry preferably with exposure to underwriting financial lines. Given the emerging nature of our class of insurance, a successful candidate will have an interest in technology and be keen to stay on top of current affairs within the industry.
