Our Professions teams are some of the largest E&O teams in London working on business across Canada and America. Our award winning team have a broad distribution network - Insure over 10,000 clients on the team and see 40,000 submissions a year. This role offers a chance to learn about different areas of underwriting including E&O, CGL, Cyber and Property, working with a broad range of professional service firms from engineers to contractors to miscellaneous professional firms both in the traditional and emerging sectors.
About the role
As an Underwriting Assistant you will support the end to end underwriting process, logging and processing submissions on CFC’s underwriting system. You’ll work closely with CFC underwriters and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll develop a thorough understanding of CFC’s workflow processes and systems as well gaining exposure to insurance. A role as an underwriting assistant provides a great foundation for a career at CFC, with a number of our underwriters and underwriting team leaders starting their careers here! Day to day responsibilities will see you:
Providing excellent administrative support to underwriting teams to ensure CFC can adhere to target turnaround times for our brokers and insureds;
Managing the underwriting central inboxes and logging new and renewal submissions on CFC’s internal underwriting system
Preparing various activity reports and spreadsheets as directed
Administering the department diary, including chasing outstanding items such as subjectivities and renewal business
Answering incoming calls and fielding queries as appropriate
General ad-hoc administrative duties as required.
