Technical Delivery Lead

Location: North West UK - Hybrid

Description

To work closely with direct reports, colleagues, clients and suppliers at all levels acting as a technical delivery leader across domains.  Accountable for the end-to end delivery of Digital Products, ensuring they are delivered to agreed timeframes, to a satisfactory standard in line with CDL standards. Lead a multi-disciplined team accountable for technical project planning and delivery including requirement validation, build, test, release and deployment. To work to create an environment and culture of continual learning and improvement across the department and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Managers to manage and prioritise the overall product backlog, whilst facilitating / co-ordinating inter-domain dependencies
  • Drive, coach and adopt an Agile mindset and Agile principles within your squad
  • Coach and mentor team members on the skills and capabilities required
  • Identify and track metrics around the software delivery cycle and other areas for data driven improvements. Working with your squad to ensure squad Objectives align with family Objectives.
  • Be a point of escalation on management and technical issues in the squads
  • Perform quarterly appraisals, 1-2-1’s and performance management activities
  • Refinement of team processes and procedures to improve delivery of products
  • Assessing the Agile Maturity of the team, assisting and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Mandatory
  • Excellent understanding of Software development lifecycle including any relevant DevOps principles.
  • Experience communicating & negotiating with stakeholders (internal and external clients), specifically in requirements elicitation and negotiation
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring team members on technical and non-technical subject matters
  • Demonstrable experience of Project Management methodologies and an ability to understand user stories/convert business requirements/data requests (from internal/external stakeholders) into technical solutions.
Desirable
  • A good foundational understanding of AWS and its components. AWS Certification preferred.
  • An understanding and appreciation of automation through continuous integration pipelines, infrastructure management and configuration
