Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their life easier and save them money.
As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money. For everyone, everywhere.
More about our mission.
We’re looking for a UK Regulator Liaison who will be responsible for ensuring Wise maintains a healthy, productive and transparent relationship with our UK regulators.
Based in London, you will work with a growing team of multidisciplinary specialists across the globe to strengthen the team’s approach to our UK regulatory engagement strategy and associated risk management.
Your mission:
Be the primarily contact person for the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) with responsibility for ensuring all interactions with the FCA are conducted to a high standard.
Ensure Wise has effective systems and controls in place to identify issues that require notification to the FCA and the subsequent notifications are of a high quality and made in a timely manner.
Arrange and attend all meetings with the FCA and ensure any resulting actions are followed up on.
Work with applicable subject matter experts and first line teams internally to conduct reviews in response to Dear CEO letters, thematic reviews and surveys requests and, where appropriate, draft responses to the FCA.
Provide insight to the business on the FCA strategy, concerns and emerging trends to inform our business strategy, risk management and prioritisation.
Collaborate with the Government Relations and Policy team on FCA consultations.
Assist first and second line owners to submit routine regulatory reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Provide the UK Regulatory Compliance Oversight Lead with any required governance reporting and management information related to regulator engagement.
Collaborate with Regulatory Liaisons in other regions to develop our approach to regulatory engagement and to keep each other informed of regional developments.
Provide relevant training on regulator engagement to first and second line teams.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
Play an instrumental role in ensuring Wise maintains a healthy relationship with our regulators in the UK.
Develop an in-depth knowledge of Wise’s growing business and get to know many teams across the company.
Implement innovative and creative compliance solutions with a technology and customer focused approach.
A bit about you:
Our ideal candidate will have a background in regulatory compliance, great communication and organisational skills, tons of motivation and positivity. More specifically, we’re looking for someone who can demonstrate they have these skills and attributes:
Knowledge. You have a strong knowledge of the FCA approach to supervision and applicable FCA Handbook guidance.
Experience. You must have experience of engaging with either the FCA or PRA on a regular basis.
You get the job done. You have a sense of urgency and an ability to work well under pressure, prioritising, taking responsibility and working to tight deadlines.
Problem solving. You are a problem-solver. You get a kick out of finding innovative solutions and collaborating with different teams to deliver a mission.
Strong written and oral communication skills. You’re a strong relationship builder and considerate communicator across all levels of the business. You have the ability to influence others and empower teams to strengthen their compliance processes to mitigate risks.
Resilience. You recover from difficulties quickly. You admit when things don’t work out and share learnings, try again and iterate with new solutions.
Open to travel. The role is London-based, but many of our teams are located across different office locations. You’ll be ready to travel if needed.
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
