CIR is hiring a Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Adviser on a maternity cover contract starting in June 2024 and running until April 2025 with the possibility of becoming permanent.
CIR is an independent, non-profit social enterprise dedicated to countering disinformation, exposing human rights abuses, and combating online behaviour harmful to women and minorities. We achieve these goals through research, digital investigations, strategic communications, building the capacity of local partners, and supporting media to amplify the impact of our work. This role will work across CIR projects as part of an expert MEL function, supported by a Senior MEL Adviser and CIR’s Director of Learning and Insight.
Main Responsibilities:
As MEL adviser, you will engage with CIR projects at key points in the programme cycle to ensure that: i) project and MEL design is based on evidence and enables robust assessment of impact and continual improvement; ii) project delivery is shaped by real-time monitoring of results and lessons learnt and iii) project assessment is robust and enables CIR and its clients to learn what’s worked, what hasn’t and why. Working Arrangements
The role will be full-time, starting in June 2024 until April 2025. While it is a maternity cover position, there is scope for extension/ a longer-term role subject to future programming requirements. The role can either be office based, hybrid or remote, with the opportunity to work from CIR’s offices in London, if desired (subject to the applicant having the right to work in the UK).
CIR encourages flexible working and is happy to agree a working pattern to suit the successful applicant. We generally expect staff to be available between the core hours of 10.00 -12.00 GMT and 14.00-15.30 GMT each working day unless an exception has been agreed.
CIR is open to recruitment of the right candidate on either a consultancy or fixed-term employment contract basis.
