Role Summary
The Senior Tax Specialist plays a crucial Tax role within the Talabat Group, focusing on Tax compliance, advisory and audits. Talabat is seeking a driven Tax Specialist to join our team, with responsibilities including both direct and indirect Taxes in the MENA region.
What’s On Your Plate?
Support Talabat Group in managing regional direct and indirect Tax compliance and finalization of Tax returns (i.e. Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Value-Added Tax), along with their Tax audits, in collaboration with finance teams, external consultants, and other stakeholders.
Support Talabat Group in reviewing various commercial contracts from a Tax perspective.
Support the regional Head of Tax and the parent company in implementing Tax-efficient structures and strategies.
Monitoring changes in the domestic Tax laws and regulations to assess their impact on Talabat Group.
Support the regional Head of Tax and the parent company in coordinating different assignments and projects with external Tax advisors and auditors on technical Tax matters, income Tax accounting, compliance processes, and other special Tax projects.
Preparation of Tax reports and analysis for various stakeholders, detailing Tax aspects and implications.
Participating in the development of any Tax planning initiatives by applying knowledge of Tax laws, foreign Tax laws, and double Tax treaties.
Support Talabat Group in monitoring and reviewing intercompany transactions to ensure that they are in line with the Group’s transfer pricing policy and domestic Tax laws.
Perform special Tax projects and other Tax-relevant duties as assigned by management.
What Did We Order?
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field is mandatory.
Professional certification such as an ADIT, CPA, ACCA is a plus.
4+ years of experience in Tax, preferably in the MENA region, with a Big 4 firm or within an in-house Tax function of a multinational corporation.
Ability to conduct a Tax analysis independently.
Familiarity with spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel is also essential for data analysis and reporting.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Must manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines effectively.
High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
