Job Description

Role Summary
As a Manager in Sustainability, you will play a pivotal role in advancing and implementing sustainable initiatives within our organization. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into our core business operations, ensuring that our practices align with local industry standards and Delivery Hero sustainability goals. In addition, you will play a pivotal role in leading and executing the sustainability agenda, which includes the strategic planning, implementation, and reporting of all our initiatives regionally across 8 markets.

What’s on the menu? (Duties & Responsibilities)
● Lead on the development and execution of comprehensive sustainability strategies in alignment with corporate objectives including social and environmental aspects.
● Identify key opportunities specifically in the environmental aspect to promote innovation.
● Improve current environmental practices by developing internal team capacity building and knowledge.
● Drive sustainability projects from initiation to completion, collaborating with various teams to ensure successful implementation and alignment with market business objectives and sustainability agenda.
● Identify and track progress of objective key results (OKRs) towards sustainability goals as well as support the Director of Sustainability in the management of the sustainability team.
● Monitor key sustainability project timelines, budgets, and outcomes supporting the Director of Sustainability by making recommendations as necessary.
● Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including relevant regional and local sustainability organizations and groups to establish project relevancy and support.
● Research and analyze industry trends and benchmarks to identify best practices especially associated with advancing the environmental sustainability strategy.
● Oversee the collection and analysis of the impact of sustainability projects to ensure a track record of learnings and as a result develop playbooks for the local market to apply.
● Support in maintaining compliance across relevant sustainability standards, regulations, and industry best practices by working with Delivery Hero and talabat stakeholders.
● Support in developing internal sustainability initiatives on engaging and educating employees on sustainability practices and their role in achieving corporate sustainability goals.
What are we looking for: (Core Qualifications & Experience)
● Education: Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an advantage.
● Experience: Proven experience (5 years) in sustainability roles, preferably within the corporate world.
● Impact- Driven: Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing sustainability strategies with measurable results.
● Field Knowledge: Strong understanding of ESG principles, reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB), and relevant industry standards. GRI Certification is an advantage.
● Exceptional Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well experience in designing and creating presentations.
● Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically, develop sustainability plans, and execute initiatives that align with business goals.
● Collaborative Team Player: Adept at working in cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration across departments.
● Strong Project Management Skills: Excellent project management, communication, and
interpersonal skills.
● Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
● Language Skills: Proficiency in the Arabic language is recommended.
● Passion for Sustainability: A genuine passion for sustainability and drive for positive change, coupled with an understanding of the global and local sustainability landscape eg. regulations and policies
