Responsibilities
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns accurately and efficiently.
- Review client financial records, documents, and statements to gather necessary information for tax preparation.
- Analyze tax information to identify potential tax deductions, credits, and savings opportunities for clients.
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure accurate tax filings.
- Communicate effectively with clients to answer tax-related questions, provide guidance on tax planning strategies, and address any concerns.
- Collaborate with the tax team to resolve complex tax issues and optimize clients' tax positions.
- Assist in tax research, analysis, and documentation of tax positions for tax planning and compliance purposes.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of client tax information, filings, and correspondence.
- Participate in training sessions, seminars, and professional development activities to enhance tax knowledge and skills.
- Provide exceptional client service, build rapport with clients, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance at a public accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software such as ProSystem fx Tax, Lacerte, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.
- Team player mindset with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and provide support as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in handling client information and tax matters.
